Student Support Services (Federal TRIO Program)

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is funded 100% by the US Department of Education. SSS is an academic resource for Midlands Technical College students enrolled in an associate degree and/or diploma/certificate programs. Services include academic advisement; academic mentoring; transfer planning; financial aid planning; dedicated student computer usage with no-cost printing for class materials; and other services designed to help participants achieve their academic and career goals. Students interested in learning if they qualify for this exceptional, academic grant program should complete an application. The application can be dropped off at either office or emailed to sss@midlandstech.edu. The earlier MTC students start the SSS application process, the earlier SSS can help students to complete their educational plan. 

Eligible applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • 1st generation college student (neither parent has a four-year degree) and/or
  • Students with limited family income (typically Pell grant recipients qualify) and/or
  • Individuals with a diagnosed disability registered with the MTC Counseling and Career Services
