Guidelines and Policies for Job Posting
Midlands Technical College (MTC) Career Services (CS) resources are provided free of charge to employers, students, and alumni. These resources are offered to assist students with job search strategies and as an avenue for employers to find great employees. Individuals should use discretion and good judgment when making any decisions involving career choices, including referral services.
All screening, interviewing, hiring and compensation issues are handled directly between the job seeker and the employer. Due to the volume of job listings, CS cannot research the integrity of each organization/person that lists a job, nor does CS perform background checks on students applying for jobs. Employers and students are advised to use caution and encouraged to request reference information as needed to establish qualifications, credentials, and overall fit between the employer and the student applicant. CS recommends that no student or employer meet at a remote or residential address for an interview.
All job listings are posted at the discretion of the Career Services Office. CS reserves the right to refuse to list positions. All organizations and recruiters must abide by all Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) standards and the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Principles for Ethical Professional Practice.
All jobs posted must pay current minimum wage requirements. CS does not allow any postings of a “business opportunity” nature that require the applicant to make a financial investment, pay a fee prior to employment, or recruit other students for a financial incentive. The CS Office also reserves the right to refuse to post jobs that do not appear to support the interests of the College.
CS has provided links to Internet websites that are maintained by third parties, over which CS has no control. Any linking should not implicitly or explicitly suggest that CS promotes or endorses any third party’s causes, ideas, website content, products or services. CS reserves the right to withdraw permission for any link.
CS assumes no responsibility for documents posted by users and no responsibility for the activities, omissions, or other conduct of users. There is no representation or guarantee regarding the opportunities listed on the websites, job boards, or other resources. CS is not responsible for the actions of any third party employment services and recommends that students carefully review any contractual provisions before signing. Students should never agree to pay for job leads or representation by a third party agent. MTC is not responsible for the wages, safety, working conditions or other aspects of off-campus employment.
