On May 28, 2026, Midlands Technical College (MTC) held a special sendoff event for students who will be participating in SkillsUSA’s National Leadership & Skills Conference (NLSC) June 1-5, 2026 in Atlanta.
Three Midlands Technical College (MTC) Architectural Engineering Technology students have received a SARA California Merit Design Award from the Society of American Registered Architects (SARA) and will advance to nationals. Each student also received a $1,000 educational grant from the Coalition of Community College Architecture Programs (CCCAP) and mattress company Saatva.
The Midlands Technical College Police Department (MTCPD) welcomed its newest officer, William Reiss, following his graduation from the Basic Law Enforcement Class at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy (SCCJA) on Friday, May 22, 2026. During the ceremony, Reiss received the prestigious J.P. Strom Award, presented to him by MTCPD Police Chief Tim Martin.
This year, Midlands Technical College (MTC) held a graduation ceremony on May 7, 2026, for the Building Occupational Opportunities in the Midlands (BOOM) program. Nine students graduated with a 15-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certificate and a Residential Construction certificate. The BOOM program is a construction job-training program for high school students with disabilities, allowing them to receive hands-on, real-world experience in the construction field.
On Thursday, April 30, 2026, The College Center (TCC) celebrated its third graduating class of dually enrolled students during the stole ceremony held on campus each year. Each of the 28 TCC graduates walk away from the program with both a high school diploma from TCC and an associate degree from Midlands Technical College (MTC).
