Overview

This program is designed for the residential construction laborer or site manager with at least a year of construction site experience seeking to become a licensed residential builder in the state of South Carolina. In five months, you will prepare to take the Residential Builder and Business Management and Law exams required for licensure in South Carolina.  You will also learn the best practices for site and foundation preparation, general framing, as well as providing oversight for employees and sub-contractors.

Residential Building Codes

This class explains the SC Residential Codes Manual, focusing on areas that building contractors need to know to pass the SC Residential Builder exam. The course will explain relevant portions of the code that residential contractors, home inspectors, or homeowners need to understand to ensure work is being performed correctly.

Residential Plumbing for Home Builders

Learn the basics of residental plumbing to ensure proper oversight of plumbing installation on the construction site. Licensed Residential Builder

Residential builders act as project managers in the building of homes and renovation or remodeling projects. They supervise construction crews and specialized sub-contractors, prepare bids and estimates for projects, order material, and will work alongside a crew to help lay foundations, frame walls, install doors and windows, put down flooring, and install siding and roofs.
