Overview

During this six-week class, offered on Saturdays, students gain the knowledge and experience to pass the national exam and become certified as a personal trainer. Work with clients one-on-one in gyms, spas, medical facilities, or work for yourself.

This nationally accredited program covers both textbook knowledge and hands-on practical training, preparing you to work with clients one-on-one in fitness facilities. Students participate in lectures during the morning portion of the class, which cover topics like biomechanics, exercise physiology, fitness testing, equipment usage, and nutrition. Reading and studying outside of class is imperative for successful class completion and passing the exam. The afternoon portion of the class is held at a local gym and covers practical aspects of being a personal trainer. Prior to obtaining the Personal Trainer Certification, students must pass the national exam given the last week of class.

Students are also required to become Adult CPR/AED certified (not included in this class). Textbook required.
