This course teaches the principles of nitrous oxide-oxygen sedation and monitoring. Successful completion of this course allows students who meet criteria to take ths SC Board of Dentistry Nitrous Oxide-Oxygen Exam. The South Carolina Board of Dentistry has designated this course as an approved course. Successful completion of this course meets the criteria for the candidate to take the SC state board test for certification. Prerequisite(s): (1) Matriculation in the SC Technical College Dental Hygiene or Expanded Duty Dental Assisting Program, OR (2) Licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist, OR (3) A graduate of an ADA Accredited Dental Assisting Program, OR (4) Documentation of Practicing as a Chairside Dental Assistant for Two Years (5) Current CPR certificate.
