The SHRM Essentials of Human Resources is an introductory course offering a comprehensive overview of the key aspects of HR. It gives participants foundational knowledge and an introduction of behavioral competencies that are essential for business success. This course is ideal for those who are just starting out in the human resources profession, or those who are looking for an effective way to boost their employee management skills.

This 48-contact-hour, all-lecture course is a general introduction to the anatomy and physiology of the human body. This course is a prerequisite for other courses and certificate programs. PLEASE NOTE: If you are registered for the ONLINE version of this class, the first day of the ONLINE class will meet IN-PERSON. This meeting is mandatory, so that the student can be a part of the online course orientation and receive course materials. The certificate in Employee Relations Law series is designed to provide a comprehensive, practical, convenient, and cost-effective way to acquire knowledge about complex employment laws that impact virtually every employment-related decision. In addition to Continuing Education credit, your completion of this program may be applied to recertification credit for HR professionals through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). Class meets the second Thursday of each month from March - December.

Gain the knowledge to implement the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), a proven system of tools and processes designed to organize all of an organization's human energy. It's the way that the people in an organization meet, solve problems, plan, prioritize, follow processes, communicate, measure, structure, clarify roles, lead, and manage. This course is intended for students who are on the leadership team of their business/organization. Students will follow the EOS system annual planning day to reflect back on the previous year and prepare for the upcoming year.

Radiographers (X-ray technologists) assist radiologists (MDs) in performing examinations of the body to rule out or confirm and identify fractures or disease. To accomplish this, radiographers must be well-trained in using highly technical X-ray equipment and applying specialized techniques. Radiographers study human anatomy and physiology, pathology, exposure techniques, positioning, fluoroscopic procedures, radiation protection, trauma, and mobile radiography

State constables are commissioned by SLED and support SC law enforcement. Prior to registering for this class, candidates must submit an application for the Constable program to SLED and receive approval to take this training. Students must pass a comprehensive test and qualify with firearms. Yearly in-service training updates are required. The curriculum includes: firearms, laws of arrest, searches and seizures, evidence, crisis intervention, human/community relations, SLED policies and procedures affecting constables. The Criminal Justice Academy does not control any part of the constable program or tuition, but only provides the training manuals. Offsite weekend sessions will be scheduled for firearms training. The instructor will provide details during the first day of class.
