"Midlands Technical College was my first college choice. 

At MTC, I felt like I was a person and not a number. Teachers there knew me by name and helped me learn better study skills. They cared enough to push me and help motivate me. I also didn’t feel intimidated going up to ask a teacher a question after class, which was great – instead of having to wait for office hours or an appointment like I would at a big university. I decided to go on and continue my education at Winthrop and study healthcare management. All my MTC classes transferred, and my advisors helped me find the right path during the whole transfer process.

If I had gone to Winthrop my freshman year, I would not be where I am now. I’m more confident and a better student after my time at MTC. I’m also in a better situation financially. I pay my own way, so I appreciate that I’ll end up paying about half of what a typical four-year student at Winthrop pays. After I graduate next year, my plan is to get some work experience and then go back to school for my MBA.
