Midlands Technical College Vice President Elected to Regional Office

Midlands Technical College Vice President for Business Affairs Debbie M. Walker has been elected president of the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers (SACUBO). Her one-year term starts on June 1, 2025.

Walker has been with Midlands Technical College since 1996. For the last decade, she has led the division of Business Affairs that encompasses finance and accounting, human resources, operations, information resource management, Harbison Theatre, procurement, internal audits, auxiliary services and the MTC Police Department.

Walker“As president of SACUBO, my goal is to increase the visibility of the organization while boosting membership,” said Walker. “Additionally, I hope to deliver outstanding professional development opportunities to our members via conferences and other programming.”  

Walker has been a member of SACUBO since 1997 and has served on the board of directors for SACUBO since 2022. She has held various positions including as the first, second, and third vice president, as well as multiple committee seats. Walker also serves on the board of the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO). 

The Southern Association of College and University Business Officers is a volunteer-led organization that represents 700 institutions in the southeastern region of the United States. The organization delivers professional development opportunities and information to its members to help or develop their capabilities in higher education and business management and improve principles and efficient practices in business and financial management for colleges and universities.
