"Two manufacturing jobs that pay well"

Nov 23, 2021

The Dean of MTC's School of Advanced Manufacturing and Skilled Trades recently appeared on the "Careers Without Four Years" podcast.

Ray Thomas discussed "Two manufacturing jobs that pay well" -- mechatronics and welding.

Neither require four-year college degrees and are in high demand, especially in states like South Carolina, where manufacturing is growing.

"We're working with new technology. We're integrating various aspects of manufacturing. It's not just creating a part, it's about being involved in the flexible design and developing products. It's thinking about how to connect with our customer base. And, so we're integrating the business functions of sales and replenishment, logistics and the supply chain."

Mechatronics programs and welding programs are part of MTC's School of Advanced Manufacturing and Skilled Trades at Midlands Technical College.

95% of our graduates are employed or continuing their education within 6 months of graduation.

MTC's School of Advanced Manufacturing and Skilled Trades offers many career options, from the automotive industry, to graphic design production, machine tooling, welding technology, and many others in between. Within this school, you'll find programs to train you for great careers in two years or less, academic transfer programs, and individual training courses.
