Rhames, MTC Commission Chair Sandra Jackson, and First Citizens Mid-South Area Executive Kevin Lindler

First Citizens Bank donated $50,000 to the Midlands Technical College Foundation to provide QuickJobs scholarships to MTC students. QuickJobs are designed to provide intensive and complete job training to develop workers for high-demand jobs during the next decade. Eligible students can receive valuable career training in more than 20 QuickJobs programs in business, information technology, advanced manufacturing, and healthcare.

“First Citizens’ continued investment in QuickJobs scholarships at MTC is especially valuable as we partner in workforce development and helping unemployed and underemployed South Carolinians get the training they need for living-wage careers,” said Nancy McKinney, CEO of the MTC Foundation.

Dr. Ronald L. Rhames, president of Midlands Technical College added, “Workforce development is at the heart of our mission as a technical college. This gift from First Citizens will make positive difference in many lives throughout the Midlands.”

“At First Citizens, we believe it’s essential to help our local economies and support initiatives such as Midlands Tech's QuickJobs program,” said Kevin Lindler, mid-south area executive at First Citizens Bank. “We’re glad to contribute to this initiative that allows students to take advantage of in-demand employment opportunities through intensive and efficient job instruction.”

Those interested in enrolling in a QuickJobs program, or to see if you qualify for a scholarship, must attend a QuickJobs information session. Please email cce@midlandstech.edu for assistance or questions regarding the QuickJobs program.
