On Thursday, April 30, 2026, The College Center (TCC), located in Lexington, SC, celebrated its third graduating class of dually enrolled students during the stole ceremony held on campus each year. Each of the 28 TCC graduates walk away from the program with both a high school diploma from TCC and an associate degree from Midlands Technical College (MTC).

It was a particularly special day for MTC President Dr. Greg Little, who played a critical role in the creation of TCC during its founding nearly six years ago.

“The cool thing about The College Center is that we began this in 2020, when Dr. Little was superintendent of the district and had a vision to start an early college in Lexington One,” said Dr. Brandon Baskett, director of The College Center. “That was a challenging time, and we had to be creative in our leadership to decide how we’d start the program, and how we’d see the vision through, to be able to have an event like this one today. We’ve now had three graduating classes, and I’m looking forward to the future as we go into year seven.”

Dr. Little attended the graduation and gave remarks during the ceremony opening. When asked what it felt like to see his vision come to pass, he spoke about TCC being another great example of partnership and collaboration.

“The College Center is another example of what happens when we focus on providing opportunities our students might not otherwise have,” said MTC President Dr. Greg Little. “Lexington One has done an amazing job, helping us grow the early college program, and as a result of the hard work from our amazing staff, we've really created a world-class learning experience and a fantastic opportunity for our students to come together, grow and learn. And that's such an exciting thing as we look at where they are today, but also where they're going tomorrow.”

The College Center provides a unique learning experience in partnership with Dual Enrollment at Midlands Technical College. The early college program admits students from all five high schools in Lexington County School District One and is located next to the Lexington North Lake Center, where Midlands Technical College also provides classes for its students.
