Mig Welding for Home Projects
ID: CEWLD-870
From thin gauge sheet metal to 1/2 thick steel, MIG welding (aka wire feed or GMAW) is versatile and easy to learn. From automotive restoration and boat trailers to lawn mower decks and works of art, this process covers all the bases. Our knowledgeable instructors will teach you about welding machine set-up, safety, and MIG welding basics even if you have no previous welding experience. Required equipment for class: welding helmet, welding cap, MIG gloves, safety glasses, welding jacket, MIG welding pliers, locking pliers, tape measure, work boots and flame- retardant clothing.
Stick Pipe Welding
ID: CEWLD-886
This class will provide extensive practice of welding pipe using the shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) process, also known as stick welding. The final objective of the class will be welding 6 schedule 40 pipe in the 6G fixed position.
TIG Pipe Welding
ID: CEWLD-885
This class will provide extensive practice of welding pipe using the gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) process, also known as TIG all the way welding. The final objective of the class will be welding 6 schedule 40 pipe in the 6G fixed position using TIG all the way.
Advanced Pipe Welding
ID: CEWLD-884
This class will provide extensive practice of three advanced pipe welding situations. Using both the gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) process and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), you will first weld a 2-3/4 X 5/8 carbon pipe, known as a monster coupon, in the 6G fixed positon. Next, you will learn to weld a stainless monster coupon, in the 6G fixed position using the GTAW process, or TIG all the way. Finally, you will weld a stainless and carbon monster coupon in the 6G fixed position using TIG all the way.
Mig Welding
ID: CEWLD-888
This class will provide extensive practice of fillet welds in all positions, using the gas metal arc welding (GMAW) process, also known as MIG welding. Using the MIG welding process to repair metal will also be introduced.
Stick Welding for Home Project
ID: CEWLD-511
Learn the basics of stick welding, oxy-fuel cutting torches, and review MIG welding skills. With instructor approval and your own materials, our experienced instructors will guide you through the steps to begin your fabrication project. Previous projects have included artwork, oyster tables, carts, trailer repairs, and furniture. It is recommended to have completed the MIG or TIG welding course first, but it is not a requirement.
Tig Welding for Home Projects
ID: CEWLD-880
When precision and control are important, TIG welding (GTAW) is the gold standard. GTAW requires exceptional hand-eye coordination and concentration. Learn TIG welding basics on carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum. You can use this process to build racecar chassis and roll cages or repair pontoons and John boats. It is recommended to have completed the MIG welding course first, but it is not a requirement.
Advanced Stick Welding
ID: CEWLD-890
This class will provide extensive practice of groove welds in all positions, both open root and with backing, using the shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) process, also known as stick welding.
Basic Stick Welding
ID: CEWLD-883
This class will provide extensive practice of fillet welds in all positions using the shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) process, also known as stick welding.
Flux Cored Welding
ID: CEWLD-889
This class will provide extensive practice of groove welds in all positions on 3/8 and 1 plate, using the gas metal arc welding (FCAW) process, also known as Flux Core welding.
TIG Welding
ID: CEWLD-887
This class will provide extensive practice of fillet and groove welds using the gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) process, also known as TIG welding.
Practice Welding - 4
ID: CEWLD-625
This class helps students prepare for a welding test.
Welding Practice 10 Hour
ID: CEWLD-897
This course is designed for participants to practice and prepare for upcoming welder qualification tests. Students should have basic hand tools and PPE associated with welding technology.
AWS Certification Test - One Position
ID: CEWLD-531
This is the AWS welding certification test for one of the following positions - structural steel 1F (flat), 2F (horizontal), 3F (vertical), 4F (overhead), and groove welding (same positions, except 1G,2G, 3G, and 4G), both limited and unlimited thicknesses.
CWI Prep Seminar
ID: CEWLD-894
The Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Exam Prep course will prepare students to take the CWI exam. A study guide, codebook and workbook will be provided in class along with hands on practice. Students should review the American Welding Society application process, required documents, and the education and work experience requirements that must be met to become a CWI.
Michelin Mig Welding & Oxyfuel Torch Training
ID: CEWLD-882
Custom training for Michelin
Advanced MIG Spray and Pulse Spray Transfer
ID: CEWLD-891
This class will provide extensive practice of two advanced MIG welding transfer methods. Spray Transfer is used on thicker metal where high deposition rates with good fusion and penetration are needed. Pulse Spray Transfer allows for the use of Spray Transfer in out of position applications.
