MTC to SC State University

The Bulldog Bridge Program is designed to enhance the successful transfer of students with an associate degree from Midlands Technical College to South Carolina State University, in order to earn their baccalaureate degree.

Students in the Bulldog Bridge Program begin their academic studies at Midlands Technical College. As a student at MTC, these students will receive structured advisement and an array of support services offered as an MTC student. After completion of an associate degree at MTC, these students will have a seamless transfer to SCSU. Students in the Bulldog Bridge Program will receive a 50% discount on the South Carolina State activity fee, which allows the BBP student to be eligible for an SC State University ID. By paying a nominal fee, these students will be eligible for SCSU campus activities, including athletic events.

The semester prior to the completion of their associate degree at MTC, the student will be matched with a transfer student mentor or academic program coordinator at SCSU in order to prepare for his/her transfer to the University. Transfer consideration for traditional transfer students requires that student complete an associate degree at MTC and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0, and earn no less than a “C” in any course eligible for transfer.
