HVAC/R Mechanics

Overview

The certificate in Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning/Refrigeration is composed of the first-year technical courses of the Associate Degree in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning Technology. It provides the graduate with the basic technical skills needed to enter the service industry.

The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration program at Midlands Technical College is designed to train entry-level technicians. Hands-on experience is combined with theory to provide students with well-balanced preparation for careers. Students will be able to plan, install, operate, and maintain a wide variety of residential and light commercial air conditioning, refrigeration and heating equipment.

Special Requirements 

Students are required to purchase hand tools and personal safety equipment at an approximate cost of $1050.
