Robert Zeigler is a Master Electrician with over 20 years of industry experience and a dedicated educator in the field of electrical technology. He is a graduate of Midlands Technical College and the University of South Carolina. Robert began his teaching career at Pelion High School and the Lexington Technology Center before joining Midlands Technical College, where he now serves as a faculty instructor and Program Director for the Industrial Electrical Program.
In his first year as Program Director, Robert has led transformative growth and achievement within the program. Under his leadership, students earned the program’s first SkillsUSA South Carolina State Gold Medal and advanced to the national championship. He expanded program capacity to meet rising demand, developed new hands-on training environments—including wire pulling, PLC, troubleshooting, Smart Home, and portable training labs—and strengthened industry engagement through enhanced field experiences.
Robert is committed to student success, safety, and instructional quality, consistently going above and beyond to ensure an equitable learning environment. He has also increased program visibility through strategic branding and feedback integration, while benchmarking best practices across the industry. Most notably, he led the development and approval of the Associate in Applied Science in Applied Electrical Technology—the first program of its kind in South Carolina—launching in Fall 2026.
Through leadership, innovation, and a student-centered approach, Robert continues to elevate electrical education and workforce readiness in South Carolina.
