Statewide Awards Honor Midlands Technical College Leaders

Midlands Technical College (MTC) leader Kim Boatwright has been recognized by the South Carolina Association of Technical College Commissioners (SCATCC) with the 2026 SCATCC Professional Board Staff Member Award.

Boatwright, Executive Assistant to MTC President Dr. Greg Little, received the statewide honor during SCATCC’s annual awards luncheon in Columbia, South Carolina, on September 22, 2026. The award recognizes her dedicated support of the MTC Commission and her role as an essential resource for the college’s Executive Council, faculty, staff, and students.

During the ceremony, SCATCC also recognized two MTC Commissioners for milestone years of service. MTC Commissioner and current Commission Chair Paula A. Hite was honored for 10 years of service, and MTC Commissioner Pamela Harrison was honored for 15 years of service.

Boatwright, a 36-year employee of the college, has served in multiple capacities across several MTC campuses. She was previously selected as one of MTC’s Employees of the Year, twice named Employee of the Month, and recognized as MTC Service Excellence Leader of the Month. On regional and statewide levels, Boatwright previously received the Association of Community College Trustees Professional Board Staff of the Year, Southern Region, in 2019, and the SCATCC Professional Board Staff Member Award in 2021.
