Midlands Technical College Sponsors New Docuseries "Underestimated: A Lower Richland Football Story"

Midlands Technical College (MTC) is a proud sponsor of the docuseries, Underestimated: A Lower Richland Football Story. The premiere is Thursday, July 16, at 7 p.m. exclusively on the Palmetto Sports & Entertainment Network, an affiliate of WIS. The station is free over the air in Columbia (WIS 10.4, WPAM 18.1, WTES 16.2). 

Produced by Kendall Projects Media and Design Company, the series consists of six, one-hour episodes and follows the Diamond Hornets’ football team as they navigate challenges in their second year since the team’s re-classification to class 4A.  

MTC has a longstanding connection to the Lower Richland community. Over the past six academic years, the college has enrolled between 269 and 306 former Lower Richland High School students annually with enrollment remaining consistently strong. On average, approximately 45 Lower Richland High School alumni graduate from MTC each year, with that number reaching a six-year high of 55 graduates during the 2023-2024 academic year.
