Next Level Leadership

Overview

The workplace is ever changing and leaders must continue to enhance skills to keep up with the changes. This series continues to help build an individual’s leadership skills and provide tools for them to excel. This program is intended for those who have completed the Supervisory Certificate Program and/or who have at least three years supervisory/managerial experience.

There are six modules associated with this program:

  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Building Trust
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) – Trends and Responses
  • Developing Others, including mentoring
  • Creativity and Critical Thinking
  • Presenting with Confidence

Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence (EQ or EI) is your ability to recognize and understand emotions in yourself and others and the ability to use this awareness to manage your behavior and relationships.It impacts how we manage behavior, navigate social situations, and make personal decision that achieve positive results. In this course, you will learn about how people and relationships function around leadership, teamwork, management skills, and partnership.

Presenting information clearly and effectively is a key skill to get your message or opinion across and, today, presentation skills are required in almost every field. A presentation is a means of communication which can be adapted to various speaking situations, such as talking to a group, addressing a meeting or briefing a team. To be effective, step-by-step preparation and the method and means of presenting the information should be carefully considered.
