WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. – Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corporation today announced the 2021 Pharmacy Technician Apprentice class. The group of five aspiring pharmacy technicians was the most successful cohort of apprentices in this program to date with a completion rate of 100 percent and a grade point average of more than 3.5.

“We could not be more excited about this bright group of future pharmacy technicians,” said Nephron CEO Lou Kennedy. “They demonstrated precisely the kind of hard work, determination and attention to detail it takes to excel in an increasingly competitive professional field. We look forward to watching them as they flourish into the industry leaders of tomorrow.”

The Nephron Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship, started in January of 2018, was the company’s first ever official Apprenticeship through Apprenticeship Carolina and the United States Department of Labor. The program is a partnership between Nephron and Midlands Technical College. Students are enrolled in the Community Pharmacy Technician Certification program, which spans seven months of in depth instructions, hands on labs, and employment experience.

Each of the Nephron employees continue to work full time as they complete their Midlands Tech program. All educational costs are paid for by Nephron, so the students continue to earn money while not accruing any debt. At the conclusion of their program, each student has earned a license of Certified Pharmacy Technician.
