MTC Provost Barrie Kirk Discusses Coronavirus Response

Midlands Technical College Provost Barrie Kirk appeared live on WIS Today on Tuesday morning April 21, 2020. Dr. Kirk spoke with Judi Gatson, Madeline Cuddihy, and Kamie Roesler about how MTC is dealing with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Topics included how students and faculty are utilizing technology to manage alternative instruction, transferrable skills within the workforce, and how MTC provides education opportunities for individuals interested in essential jobs. Those essential jobs are in industries like health care, information technologyadvanced manufacturing and skilled trades and employ people such as nurses, respiratory therapists, heating and air conditioning technicians, and automotive technicians.

During the interview, Dr. Kirk also announced that MTC will continue to wave its application fee through May 15th. When completing an online application, applicants just need to enter Apply2020.
