Columbia Housing Announces First Registered Apprenticeship of Its Kind in South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Columbia Housing is partnering with Midlands Technical College and Apprenticeship Carolina to sponsor a registered apprenticeship for maintenance technicians. This is the first apprenticeship of its kind in the state.

The event will be held on the patio of the MTC Technology Center on the Northeast Campus. In the event of inclement weather, activities will be moved to the Conference Room on the Northeast Campus.

If you're interested in becoming an apprentice, start with MTC's Industrial Mechanical Maintenance training certificate. You'll learn the entry-level skills needed to be a mechanical maintenance technician. The program takes just 11 months and there is high demand for workers in this field!


MTC's School of Advanced Manufacturing and Skilled Trades offers many career options, from the automotive industry to graphic design production, machine tooling, welding technology, and many other skilled trades courses. This is more than a trade school. Our programs prepare you for great careers in two years or less with individual training courses and academic transfer programs.
