EV at MTC
In close collaboration and partnership with Scout Motors, Midlands Technical College has developed a new Electric Vehicle (EV) Engineering Technology Program in addition to offering four other associate degrees that prepare students for EV careers.
The School of STEM (Science, Information Technology, Engineering and Math) designed program integrates electrical and mechanical engineering training. MTC students can now earn a two-year associate degree that allows for the pursuit of high-demand, high-wage careers in EV manufacturing.
Education Pathways
From the classroom to the assembly line, together, Midlands Technical College and Scout Motors are building a new era of American innovation.
In addition to the EV Engineering Technology Program, four programs from the Schools of Advanced Manufacturing and Skilled Trades and STEM are enrolling students and offer pathways that could lead to careers in EV manufacturing.

The '74
Step Into the Driver's Seat
Midlands Technical College was founded in 1974. This '74 International Harvester Scout II matches MTC brand colors and serves as a student recruiting tool, demonstrating the college's partnership and collaboration with Scout Motors in Blythewood, SC. Students who enroll in any of the five related programs can step into the driver's seat of the EV manufacturing and move their careers miles ahead.

The '74
Innovation Meets Ambition
The '74 has a 345 V8 engine with a 3-speed automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive. A 1974 model, the same year of MTC's founding, it reminds potential students that then, and now, Midlands Tech is where visionaries take shape. Where innovation meets ambition. Developed in partnership with Scout Motors, the five related programs give students the skills and education they need to thrive in today's work environment.
