During advisement, students work with advisors to plan their academic path by selecting courses to take while at MTC. MTC’s advisors are here to help students understand their options, plan their program path, and achieve their academic goals – aiming to help students progress successfully from enrollment to graduation and beyond.
Students must be advised before they can register for classes. Once advised, students are responsible for final course selection, scheduling, and registration.
After you have been accepted to the college:
- Log in to MyMTC.
- Schedule your New Student Orientation (first-time MTC students). You will be advised at your orientation session, then register for classes.
(Returning students – schedule an advisement appointment with your program advisor. Bring a copy of your college transcript(s) to your appointment.)
- Choose your classes and complete registration.
- Attend MTC.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your advisement appointment for any reason, call your advisement contact as soon as possible.
What to Bring to Your Advisement Appointment
When attending your advisement appointment, it is important to be on time and be prepared with the following:
- Any information you have to help your advisor regarding your program of choice and desired career path
- College transcript(s)
- Test scores
