The Midlands Technical College Commission is seeking candidates for the seventh President of Midlands Technical College. The position is open until filled, with a target date for applications of January 30, 2024.
Midlands Technical College (MTC) in Columbia, South Carolina is a comprehensive, multi-campus, two-year public college serving the primary region of Richland, Lexington and Fairfield counties. Located in the thriving capital of the state, the college’s six campuses provide robust educational opportunities for approximately 25,000 students annually in its academic and corporate and continuing education programs.
MTC offers more than 100 credit programs of study, and has an estimated annual economic impact in excess of $1 billion. College programs and services provide accessible, affordable, quality education and training that prepares a diverse student population to succeed in the job market, to transfer to four-year colleges and universities, and to achieve their professional and personal goals. MTC is the largest source of transfer students to the University of South Carolina in Columbia, outside of its own system, and has articulation agreements with colleges and universities throughout the state and nation.
MTC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), and received no recommendations in its 2010 and 2020 re-accreditation cycles.
2024 marks the 50th anniversary of Midlands Technical College and its service to the citizens of the Central Midlands of South Carolina.
