College Opportunity Programs

Educational Talent Search

Provides support and services to eligible students in grades 6 – 12 in target schools.

Upward Bound

Provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. Upward Bound serves: high school students from low-income families; and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree.

Educational Opportunity Center

Provides counseling and information on college admissions to qualified individuals who want to begin or continue college education.

Student Support Services

Assists eligible MTC students with the goals of becoming successful and academically competitive.


Recruits, trains, and assists in the certification of African American males interested in becoming elementary school teachers in South Carolina’s public schools.

Midlands TechHire

Through Midlands TechHire, MTC will provide scholarships, training, and job opportunities for the high-growth IT field.

Fast Fact

Approximately 1/3 of college-bound high school graduates in the Midlands are served by MTC.

Financial assistance is available at Midlands Technical College (MTC) to help you with the cost of attending college.  MTC's Financial Aid department assists prospective and current students and their families by providing information about financial resources and the application process.

CAREERS is a grant that offers support and financial aid to adults in career and technical education credit programs. Benefits include financial assistance for books or childcare, exposure to career opportunities, and individual support, counseling and guidance.
