Kickoff Movie Screening "Picture a Scientist"
Virtual Screening with MTC Library, 2pm-4pmThe Midlands Technical College Library - in collaboration with the School of Science, Information Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)- in observance of Women's History Month, is kicking off MTC's School of STEM week with a celebration of women in STEM. The celebration begins with a screening of Picture a Scientist, on Monday, March 15 at 2 pm. Everyone is welcomed to join us! Just make sure to register using the button below.
Kickoff Webinar – Welcome to STEM Week
Zoom, 5:30pm-6:30pmA quick introduction of STEM Leadership and a summary of programs at MTC. We'll have a round-robin style interview of the STEM Department Chairs about the benefits of a STEM education and opportunities and new and exciting things in the School. We'll also talk about the upcoming events of the week.

Math Dept. Lunch and Learn Webinar
Zoom, 12pm-1pmWhat does it mean to be a Math Major? What can you do with a degree in Mathematics? We'll go beyond derivatives, right triangles, and long division and talk about how Math is so much more. Presentations from math competition team members and info on opportunities in the MAT pathway.
Student and Alumni Panel
Zoom, 5:30pm-6:30pmPanel discussion with a group of current and former STEM pathways students about why they chose their path in STEM, challenges they faced, the benefits of STEM education at MTC, and other questions as proposed by STEM students and faculty.
Lab@Home: Hopped Up on STEM Virtual Event
Zoom, 7pm-8pmThe tasty side of STEM! Learn about the basics of fermentation, including home brewing methods and how themes of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics run throughout. We will give you some ideas of how you can set up your own fermentation experiment at home and challenge you to submit your photos to our "See Me in STEM" photo contest.

Math Jeopardy

Using MIT App Inventor, we will create an app that we hope will be the beginning of your app invention inspiration. To code along beside us, you will need to set up your device ahead of time.
