Real Strategy: Creating a plan for the future
Midlands Technical College is embarking on a major initiative to create a nimble, action-oriented, metric-driven strategic plan that will set the college’s vision for the next five-to-10 years.
The purpose of the MTC Strategic Planning process is to provide the college with a methodology to address MTC’s Focus Goals as defined by the MTC Commission. The Focus Goals for 2016-17 are: Growing the College, Leveraging Goodwill, Strategic Planning, and Making Lives Better. These cornerstone goals are intentionally designed to positively affect the college’s attainment of its mission and vision.
“The planning process will bring together a broad range of stakeholders from inside and outside the college who will provide thought leadership for the development of a dynamic plan. This is a major initiative that will positively impact the Midlands community,” said MTC President Dr. Ronald L. Rhames.
The strategic plan will enable MTC to continue to provide more than $835 million in economic impact annually to the region; it will focus on academic excellence in providing high-quality curriculum programs and services; and it will intentionally set an agenda for the college to grow in areas that are needed by the community.
