Certificates and Certifications
Skilled workers are in high demand in South Carolina, and a certificate or certification can help you get started in a new career—or build your skills within an existing one.
What is the difference between a certificate and a certification?
A certification indicates that after taking a course or courses, a student will have to pass a test in order to become officially certified. Certifications expire eventually, so you may need to take continuing education units to stay current in your field and earn credentials toward a higher-paying position.
Earning a certificate simply means that you have completed a course or courses in a specific field of study. Certificates may be prerequisites for certain types of jobs.
