MTC celebrates growing the college, making lives better, and leveraging goodwill
It is an honor to present to you the 2017-2018 Presidential Report showcasing Midlands Technical College’s achievements of the strategic initiatives focused on growing the college, making lives better, and leveraging goodwill.
During the 2017-2018 academic year, MTC celebrated growing the college by applauding the largest group of youngest graduates at MTC and the oldest person to graduate in the college’s history. A 92-year-old set the record as the oldest graduate, and almost 50 dual-enrolled high school students received college degrees and certificates.
We focused on making lives better by representing the populations we serve, and the college received national recognition for doing so. The Military Times selected MTC as a Military Times Best College for 2018, and Diverse: Issues in Higher Education ranked MTC in the top 100 colleges in the United States in terms of African-American students earning associate degrees.
We leveraged goodwill and produced educated, impeccably trained, well-prepared graduates who are ready to fill in-demand jobs or continue their higher education journeys. Career-focused students contributed to a 100% pass rate in 10 program areas, surpassed national averages, and topped certification exam pass rates.
When you read this report and see all that has been accomplished this year, I invite you to imagine what next year could look like with investment from partners and people like you who fund scholarships, support programs, and join us as we move Midlands Technical College forward in a meaningful way and grow in areas that are needed by the community.
