What Is HOBET/C-HOBET?

The C-HOBET is given to most students seeking admission to the various Allied Health Programs, not including nursing at Midlands Technical College. The exam consists of six sub-test areas: Essential Math Skills, Social Decisions, Stressful Situations, Learning Styles, Reading Comprehension, and Test Taking Skills. The cost of the C-HOBET/HOBET is $25 and the fee must be paid to the cashier prior to scheduling an appointment for the test. You may retest after six months.

C-HOBET is the same as the HOBET, except it is administered via a computer in our testing centers, Airport or Beltline Campus. The cost of the C-HOBET is $25 and the fee must be paid to the cashier prior to scheduling an appointment for the test. C-HOBET is administered more frequently than the traditional paper and pencil version.

How do I study for this exam?

Many students find it helpful to prepare for the C-HOBET before taking it. You may wish to prepare in several different ways. It is recommended that you become familiar with the exam by reviewing the different sections of the test, the time allowed for each section and the sample questions for the test. Most of this information is available in the Student Assessment Brochure.

Is a retest on the C-HOBET permitted?

Yes, Students are allowed to retest on the c-HOBET exam after a six month waiting period.

How long does the test last?

The C-HOBET takes about 2 hour and 45 minutes to complete. The computer individually times each section. You will be advanced to the next section of the test when time has expired for the section on which you are working.
