Computerized Health Occupations Basic Entrance Test

The Health Occupations Basic Entrance Test is designed primarily as a diagnostic instrument to help health occupations programs evaluate the academic and social skills of new applicants. C-HOBET is the common acronym for the computerized form of the Health Occupations Basic Entrance Test. Based upon the profile generated by this test, a program can more objectively screen applicants for admission.

This exam assesses the applicant's basic math skills in areas essential for success in health occupation programs. The math area includes basic math functions such as fractions, decimals, proportions and basic algebra. Other sections provide insight into the group leadership style of the individual student within a group and the learning style of the student.

A newly developed study guide is available at the college's bookstore on either campus. It is currently priced at approximately $37. Other study guides should be available at major bookstores as well. Study guides are generally most useful when studied consistently and over a period of time.
