The Center is designed to the highest standards of interactivity and technology, and it represents a tangible commentary about how the future of education will evolve.  The MTC Technology Center is, in fact, primarily a concept within a state-of-the-art facility, and it will readily transform to match the purposes of those who use it. Based on the theory that change and flexibility are the hallmarks of success, the Center offers technology paired with creativity. The MTC Center of Excellence for Technology is a place where all things become possible.

idlands Technical College has created the Center of Excellence for Technology to enhance learning and collaboration in ways that have not been available before. Whether individuals are engaged in advanced manufacturing training on the expansive, fully equipped manufacturing floor, or exploring software applications in one of the many information technology classrooms and labs, the common factor is the progressive, relevant application of knowledge that governs the economic success of the region. With more than 50,000 square feet of applied learning space, the MTC Technology Center has been designed as an accelerator for technology-based education. The Center will also be the site of regional symposia on initiatives in emerging technical fields and economic development clusters. Conferencing and auditorium space is included in the Center equipped with compressed video telecommunications capabilities and satellite downlink.

The college opens this Center to all – from middle school students seeing their first glimpse of careers in advanced manufacturing, to engineering professionals working with rapid prototyping issues. Learning and working will never be the same.
