Accreditation and Certification Eligibility
The Midlands Technical College Surgical Technology Program is a Diploma in Health Sciences program. The program demonstrates by comparison that the curriculum offered meets or exceeds the content demands of the Core Curriculum for Surgical Technology 5th Edition.
The Midlands Technical College, Surgical Technology Program is an accredited program by the Council on Accreditation of allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in cooperation with the Joint Review Committee for the Surgical Technologist. Any student successfully completing the requirements of the program will take the National Certification Examination for Surgical Technologist. The certifying exam is written and administered by the National Board of Surgical Technologists and Surgical Assistants (NBSTSA).
