Services Eligibility How To Apply Resources SSS Staff

Who Is Eligible

You are eligible to apply for Student Support Services (SSS) if you are enrolled at MTC and meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Your parents or guardians did not complete a 4-year college degree.
(Even if your parents earned an associate's degree, you are considered a “first-generation college student.”)
  • Your income does not exceed established financial guidelines.
(Typically, students who are financially eligible for a Pell grant will fall within these guidelines.)
  • You have a diagnosed physical or mental disability.

If you believe SSS could help you meet your goals, please visit our "How To Apply" page to learn more about applying to the program.

Maneuvering through the school’s systems, adjusting to extra demands on time and energy, grappling with complex new subjects – these are familiar difficulties to students. Yet these challenges can be magnified if you’re struggling financially, have a disability, or if you’re one of the first people in your family to attend college. In these situations, it’s easy to imagine that success is so far removed it will never be reached. But Student Support Services can help you bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be.
"What If I’m Not Eligible?"

If your circumstances don’t match the eligibility requirements for SSS, other services may still be available to help you. Please visit our resources page or browse around Midlands Technical College’s web site for programs to meet your needs.
