Home Financing your education

Once you receive a financial aid award, you must maintain your eligibility and you must complete a new FAFSA each academic year you are enrolled or plan to be enrolled. Maintaining your eligibility for most types of educational financial assistance requires the following:

Step 1. Maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.
Step 2. Successful completion of 70 percent of classes taken each term. Grades of W, WF, F and I do not count as successful course completions.
Step 3. Completion of your academic program in no more than 150 percent of the required credit hours for the program. All attempted hours are included in this calculation.

Note: In compliance with Title IV Guidelines, Midlands Technical College observes the maximum student eligibility guideline that a student cannot earn more than 180 credit hours, two associate degrees or a baccalaureate degree and be eligible for funds governed by Title IV eligibility. Scholarships have a separate criteria for continued eligibility.
