Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)
Overview
A new student aid grant program called the Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG) was recently created. First-year undergraduate students will be eligible to receive up to $750. Second-year undergraduate students will be eligible to receive up to $1,300. The ACG is intended to encourage rigorous academic study in high school. Students can only receive the award once as a first year student (0-29 credit hours) and once as a second year student (30 credit hours or more) for a total maximum lifetime award of $2050.00.
Academic Competitiveness Grant Eligibility Requirements
- Student must be a US Citizen
- Must complete a FAFSA
- Student must be receiving a Pell grant for the same award year
- Student must be enrolled full time
- Student must be enrolled in the first or second academic year of his or her program of study at a two-year or four-year degree-granting institution
- Student must submit a copy of their official high school transcript to admissions*
- First-year students must not have been previously enrolled in an undergraduate program
- Second-year students must have a least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
*Students must have successfully completed a rigorous secondary school program of study and graduated after January 1, 2007, for first-year students and after January 1, 2006 for a second-year student. Please contact Student Financial Services for more information as to what is considered a rigorous secondary school program.
