Student Internship Information

The biggest obstacle to landing that first good job is lack of experience. One way to gain that all-important work experience is to serve as an intern.

What is an Internship?

An internship is an opportunity for a student to gain valuable on-the-job learning and work experience in a real-world work environment. MTC internships are paid and require the intern to work a minimum of 10 weeks.

Who Can Be an Intern?

To qualify for an internship a student must:

  • Be currently enrolled at MTC in a curriculum program
  • Possess at least a 2.0 GPA
  • Have completed at least one course at MTC
  • Be in good standing with the college

What are the Requirements?

  • Complete the Internship Application Packet
  • Have your resume critiqued by a member of the Student Employment Services staff
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from an employer or MTC instructor
  • Provide a copy of your most recent transcripts
