The Physical Therapist Assistant curriculum is sequenced in a one plus one format that allows the student to complete the general education courses (Phase I) in a flexible format. During Phase I, the student can complete not only the academic requirements needed for the associate degree, but can also complete the observation requirements and all necessary documentation required prior to acceptance into the technical portion (Phase II) of the degree. Movement into the second phase is achieved by successful completion of the Phase I certificate, Interview and completion of the requirements as listed for the program.

| WHAT: | 2 year Associate degree completion of degree qualifies student for state board licensure examination Curriculum is 1 + 1 format with general education courses prior to technical/professional courses. CAPTE accredited. |
| WHEN: | Fall semester each year for Phase II (technical) anytime for Phase I (general education). Airport and Beltline campuses (Phase I). |
| WHERE: | Airport Campus (Phase II) Clinical facilities located in the metropolitan Columbia and surrounding areas. |

If you are interested in the profession of physical therapy but do not plan to receive the PTA degree at MTC, your major should be AS (Associate of Science).
