South Carolina requires licensure of physical therapy providers, both the physical therapist and the physical therapist assistant. Licensure is achieved by successful completion of a computerized, standardized, national board examination.
Eligibility for the board examination, in part, requires graduation/completion of a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited or State Board approved educational program. Both the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) and the South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners recognize MTC’s PTA Program as an approved program.
Graduates of the MTC Physical Therapist Assistant Program are eligible for licensure.
