NTHS and PTK also opened the event to other campus clubs and organizations, encouraging campus-wide collaboration on service projects and joint events.

Students, advisors and other campus club representatives enjoyed ice cream and soft drinks as they perused the NTHS/PTK information table and networked with fellow honor society members.

August 2005

Ms. Blackwell (pictured far left) and advisors from Crest High School (Shelby, NC), Blue Ridge Community College (Flat Rock, NC), Greenville Tech (SC), and Swofford Career Center (Fingerville, SC) shared their experiences as chapter advisor and offered insight related to the current NTHS website. The new website, as well as NTHS policy and procedure updates, are scheduled for implementation during the 2005-06 academic year.

MTC's chapter of NTHS was recently selected to participate in a focus group comprised of advisors from selected South and North Carolina chapters. Five high school and collegiate advisors met with NTHS staff in Flat Rock, NC, home to NTHS's national headquarters, to discuss the goals of the web development project.

Honorees and their parents attended the College and Career Showcase after the ceremony. MTC faculty and staff along with local business partners set up displays and offered college and career information to NTHS guests.

Midlands Technical College Inducts Students into National Technical Honor Society


Midlands Technical College recently inducted 10 new members into the National Technical Honor Society at the college's Airport Campus. MTC's chapter of NTHS is open to eligible Career Programs students who achieve and maintain a 3.0 GPA in majors from Health Sciences, Nursing, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, Business Technology and Information Systems Technology. Family and friends of the honorees as well as college faculty and administrators attended the ceremony in support of Midlands Technical College's outstanding Career Programs students.
