What is the Michelin Scholars Program?

Michelin North America offers a scholarship program to students attending Midlands Technical College. The scholarship covers the cost of tuition, fees and books. Scholarship recipients also gain on-the-job experience through part-time employment opportunities with Michelin.

Who qualifies for these scholarships?

Good candidates for this program are students with strong math, science and reading comprehension skills who enroll in Midlands Technical College’s Electronics Engineering Technology Program.

How can a student obtain a Michelin scholarship?

To be eligible for consideration for the Michelin Scholars Program scholarship, students in Midlands Technical College’s Electronics Engineering Program (EET) must pass an aptitude test administered by Michelin testing officials and interview with plant officials.

What are the long-term benefits?

After earning an associate degree from Midlands Technical College, Michelin Scholars will be considered for full-time employment at Michelin as industrial troubleshooters with starting salaries of up to $45,000.

What do industrial troubleshooters do at Michelin?

Industrial troubleshooter positions within Michelin North America require a sound working knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical technologies. Candidates must possess the aptitude to develop additional trade-related skills in the areas of electronics, mechanics, fluids and process control systems upon receiving specific company sponsored training.
