Prerequisite: MAT 102 or Appropriate Assessment Score

Course Requirements:      A hybrid course is a combination of traditional classroom teaching and online teaching.  A course schedule will be provided the first day of class.  Most weeks we will meet two days and other weeks we may only meet once.  MyMathLab/CourseCompass is required for the internet portion of the course.  All homework and quizzes will be done using this software.  These assignments can be done at anytime, from any computer with internet access.  All students have access to the computer lab on campus if they do not have internet at home.  Tests will be taken in the classroom.  They will be standard paper/pencil tests.

Orientation Information:        The course orientation will be held the first day of class.

Textbook:         Elementary Statistics:Picturing the World,   Fourth Edition, by Ron Larson and Betsy Farber;  Pearson Prentice Hall, 2009.  The textbook can only be purchased new at the bookstore since it is an unbounded copy.  The text includes a Student Access Kit for MyMathLab/CourseCompass. To use MyMathLab/CourseCompass, you will need the access code from the Access Kit along with the Course ID I will provide.   The textbook and  MyMathLab/Coursecompass are required for the course!

The Access Code works for any MyMathLab/CourseCompass class. Once it has been used, it is only good for the same textbook. So if you used MyMathLab/CourseCompass in  MAT 101 or 102, you will need a new code.  Buying online access costs $70.00 without the Student Access Kit. You can get more information at www.coursecompass.com

A Graphing Calculator will be required for this course.  A  TI-83 or TI-84 is suggested.

These forms are available at the Student Information Center in the Academic Center on Airport Campus or in the Wade Martin building on Beltline Campus, at the Records office on both Campuses, or in most academic offices. Withdrawal through the fifth day of the term is considered a “drop” and will not show on your official transcript. Withdrawal from the sixth day of the term through midterm results in a grade of “W”. If you withdraw after midterm, you will receive a grade of “W” if you are passing the course at the time of withdrawal or a grade of “WF” if failing the course on the date of withdrawal.
