9.5 – Radical Equations
Radical Equations: An equation with a radical.
To Solve:
1.) Isolate the radical on one side of the equation.
2.) Raise both sides of the equation to the inverse power of the radical.
3.) Simplify each side. If a radical still remains, repeat steps 1 and 2.
If no radicals remain, solve the equation.
4.) Check for extraneous roots!
