3.6 – Equations of Lines

Standard Form:            ax + by = c

Slope-Intercept Form:              y = mx + b

Point-Slope Form:                   

            *Know when to use each equation.

Ex.:

1.)  Write an equation for a line with slope = -2 and passes through the point (0, 7).

2.)   Write an equation for a line with slope =  and passes through the point (2, -5).

3.)  Write an equation for a line that passes through the points (4, 6) and (8, 10).
