4.5 – Integration by Substitution

U – Substitution –

            1.)  Set  equal to a part of the integral where  is equal to another part of the integral. 

            2.)  Substitute  and  into the integral to eliminate all original variables.

            3.)  Now integrate with respect to .

            4.)  Substitute the original variable back in for .
