6.8 – Applications of Quadratic Equations

Consecutive Integers –

            Two consecutive odd positive integers have a product of 399.  Find the integers.

Geometry –

            The length of a rectangular rug is 3 feet more than its width.  If the area of the rug is 40 square feet, find the length and with of the rug.

Two Unknowns –

            One positive number is 6 less than twice a second number, and their product is 140.  Find the two numbers.
