Minimize
your Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL or whatever program you use.
Click the
right mouse button in the middle of your desktop screen.
Select 'PROPERTIES'.
About
mid-screen in the settings you will see Desktop Area with a
horizontal sliding bar allowing you to change resolution, slide the
bar to the right until the number reads 1024x768.
Click on
the Apply button in the lower right side of the screen, or click the
OK button if there is no Apply.
The screen
will flicker or go black briefly.
Your screen
icons will appear smaller but you will have more viewing area.
Click 'YES'
to keep these settings.
Click OK.
Exit out of
the settings and maximize your web browser.

Method II
Click the
Start button, then Settings, then Control Panel .
Double-click on the Display icon to open the Display Properties
window.
Click on
the Settings tab near the top right.
Click and
drag to move the slider (in Screen area box) until the number reads
1024x768. Then, click the Apply button at bottom right.
The
screen will flicker or go black briefly.
Windows
will ask you to confirm that you want to change the screen
resolution. Click OK. If a problem occurs or the screen looks
strange, wait 15 seconds and the original settings will be restored.
If you want
to keep the new settings, click OK when asked. Then click OK to
close the Display Properties window.
Exit out of
the settings and maximize your web browser.
