International Student
Health, Immunization and Insurance Requirements

Health insurance is not required for international students, but it is recommended. If you get sick while you are in the United States, insurance coverage can help you locate a physician and pay a portion of the expenses for hospital or medical treatment. Otherwise, you will have to make payment arrangements for your care.

If you currently have medical problems that could prevent you from pursuing a full course of study in the United States, you may wish to reconsider your plans. Although health care is excellent here, there are limits as to the amount of time you can spend out of class, even with permission. Extended periods of illness could put you in jeopardy of losing your visa status.
