NOTICE OF JOB OPENING
POSITION: Online Communications Manager
HOURS: Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Friday 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Northeast Campus
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Temporary - No Benefits! Take a lead role in managing the launch of a new website and migration to a new CMS as well as developing the digital marketing strategy for the College. Partner with marketing agencies and marketing staff to ensure that branding, identity standards and messaging are consistently presented on the College's website and ensure that digital and traditional marketing strategies are thoughtfully unified. Handle day-to-day management and maintenance of the College’s websites and micro-sites. Write and edit web content and help guide and the college’s social media presence. Candidates must be self-motivated and comfortable balancing competing deadlines, managing multiple and often shifting priorities, and working on a team. The ideal candidate will keep abreast of the latest web and online communication trends; and research, implement, and leverage, as appropriate, new and existing technologies to support the College's mission. The position reports to the Executive Director of Strategic Communications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree with four (4) years relevant experience in web communications, media, or mass communications. Demonstrated understanding of web and content strategies and experience managing of social media channels. Familiarity with web content management systems. Strong communication skills specifically, writing and editing for the Web that is optimized for high quality user experience, clearly perceived calls to action, intuitive navigation, and persuasion. Demonstrated creativity and interpersonal skills for interacting with many campus constituencies. Experience directing multiple projects and meeting time sensitive deadlines. Ability to prioritize, multi-task efficiently and respond to ongoing requests in a timely fashion. Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic work environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION: Knowledge of or experience in higher education environment; experience deploying new websites and/or launching new brands; experience in digital image, video, and audio editing; Basic HTML knowledge; project management experience; graphic design experience; marketing agency experience as a client lead a plus.
HIRING RANGE: $22 per hour - $32 per hour
